If you have been following the Daily Bible Reading Schedule, you will know that it ended yesterday. Here is a new Bible reading schedule for 2016. Since this will be a Leap Year, you can use February 29th as a catch-up day.
This schedule starts on January 1 with Matthew. The readings then go in order with four chapters every day. Following this schedule, the New Testament will be done in the first week of March. Then you move to Genesis. By the time the year is over, you will have read the New Testament twice and the Old Testament once.
If you have never systematically read the Bible, going straight through it, I would encourage you do follow this plan. Since you begin with the New Testament, when you get bogged down in Leviticus or 2 Chronicles, you will have more invested in how much you have accomplished and more incentive to continue with the readings.
As well, by reading the New Testament before the Old Testament, you will begin to see connections between the two sections of the Bible that you never saw before. And then by reading the New Testament again after the Old Testament, you will see even more than ever before.
Happy reading! May God bless you in the New Year!
